MotherCircle is an 8 week deep dive of sitting in Circle, exploring the unseen aspects of motherhood, as created by Kimberly Johnson and Jessica Connolly.

Have you noticed how motherhood is shifting you at your core?

…how you have been rearranged by becoming a mother, or when your children entered school, or become adolescents, or flew the nest all together, that you are something different at each stage?

Do you feel like the dominant messages about motherhood are shallow or incomplete?

Do you ache for a community of people who make motherhood a spiritual practice - whether they love mothering or are struggling?

Are you looking for a place to discover, embrace and embody all the many versions of yourself?

This mothers circle gave me much needed space, breath, and focus. It helped me connect with myself, the other women in the circle, and with my own motherhood in a way I was missing. This is something I can see myself returning to in memory often, and something worth attending more than once. We need so much more of this kind of energy and love in our motherhood spaces and communities in general. Dawn was an amazing host and guide! Her peace and good energy is contagious. I highly recommend anyone on any motherhood path to carve out some time to do this.

FOR MOTHERCIRCLE IN GREENSBORO, NC

September 29 - November 24, 2024 (no class 10/20)
Sundays, 11:30am - 1pm
at Triad Pelvic Health in Greensboro

What is MotherCircle?

We know that when women come together, in any capacity, the world shifts! We are finally starting to hear conversation in the public sphere actually turning towards mothers. This presents us with an opportunity to cultivate the practice of sitting in Circle with other mothers in order to transform the world for mothers.

For many of us the first step in shifting the experience of mothering and motherhood begins by uncovering and acknowledging the many experiences, thoughts and feelings that we have suppressed or ignored. How have you moved in the world and life from girl to woman to mother? And who are you now as a person and a mother? Who will you become as your children grow and change and fly out on their own?

In this Circle we will explore 8 areas of motherhood that are often missing from the conversation. Bringing light to these topics is liberating and empowering. Sitting in Circle will bring you closer to yourself and to others simultaneously!

Become part of a community of mothers who are working for deep transformation and connection within themselves and their communities.

Just a huge thank you! I needed this space for myself and I am so glad I got to attend.

I loved the mother code as an ending, after all of the other classes that built up to it. It felt good to walk forward knowing a piece of ourselves better.

Course Pricing

GREEN BOTTLE (SLIDING SCALE) PRICING

MotherCircle is offered in tiered, class-equitable, pay-what-supports-you pricing.

I believe that pricing shouldn’t exclude you from healing. As a white woman in the wellness industry I am aware of the classism that can be exacerbated through “charge-what-you’re-worth” mindset. This class is offered in service to creating Mother Culture for all of humanity. And my training and experience in leading circles has enough value that I believe deserve compensation. This model is inspired by the Green Bottle Model from Worts + Cunning.

I want to be part of a culture of conscious, intentional and value-aligned pricing. Please read the following criteria and determine which price is appropriate for you:

$320

  • If you have access to financial security, own property, or have personal savings;

  • if you are able to pay for "wants" and spend little time worrying about securing necessities in your life;

  • if you have economic privilege and power in our community, this price is for you.

By choosing this price, you are “paying it forward” and contributing to a more equitable world by supporting course access for those with less.

$250

  • You may be paying off debt or working to build savings, but you also have access to steady income.

  • You do NOT spend most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc.

  • Making this investment might mean you have to cut back on some discretionary spending in your life (such as going out to dinner, buying coffee, buying a new outfit, or going on vacation), but the sacrifice is short-term, and will not harm you in the long term.

$180

  • You have access to basic needs such as food, housing, and childcare, though sometimes it may feel difficult.

  • You are able to put away money each month to save up to be able to pay for the course, but the middle tier price would mean that you have to save for longer than 6 months.

Please be mindful that if you opt into a lower price when you can truthfully afford a higher price, you are limiting access to those who truly need the gift of financial flexibility. If buying this course means making short-term sacrifices, having to get creative, or asking others for financial support, but does not actually jeopardize your safety, I ask that you use those resources before opting for this tier, which will limit opportunities for others.

Hi, I’m Dawn Leonard, owner of Sacred Rhythms. I have been on a path of healing my womb space (my physical uterus and the energetics of my “second chakra”) for over 10 years. It began with fertility and has lead me to explore the powers inherent to women through pregnancy, birth, menstruation, ceremony, energy healing and the initiatory experiences built into the body of a woman.

Through my work as a prenatal/postnatal yoga teacher, childbirth educator, energy healer and now Circle facilitator, I am creating a community of people who are growing into positive balanced relationships with their bodies and each other.

I have been following the work of Kimberly Ann Johnson for many years and attended my first MotherCircle online in January of 2019 after my second son was born. Through continued study and work with Kimberly in her Activate Your Inner Jaguar classes I was thrilled to answer her call to train to become a MotherCircle Facilitator for my community! As of August 2023, I am now an official MotherCircle Facilitator.

  • That’s ok. If there is one or two dates that you cannot attend, I still recommend joining us. If you have to miss more than 2 classes, I suggest referring to the first question above.

In the spirit of privacy and to preserve the essence of sitting in circle together physically, the classes will not be recorded.

  • The content of MotherCircle and the 8-week arc of the experience were created by Kimberly Johnson and Jessica Connolly. After attending multiple rounds of MotherCircle as a participant I was offered the opportunity to lead my own MotherCircle using their specific content. As a certified facilitator, I was trained in the art of facilitation (which is different than teaching), witnessing and of holding a solid and deep container for other women to experience compassionate self reflection and transformation.

The vision of training other facilitators is to light torches all around the world where women sit in circle again. Together we will build a new culture in which mothers are honored and matured by their experiences.

  • This time, sitting in circle, is most effective when you can consolidate your energy into yourself and not your children. If you are not ready or able to be apart from your little one for the time of the class, it may be better to wait for another time the class is offered.

It takes a village to raise a child, and it takes a village to raise a mother.

This is that village.
