Postpartum Doula

The birth of a baby is also the birth of a mother. As a newborn mother you need the same tender and all-encompassing support.

A postpartum doula is responsible for taking care of your needs as a new mother and taking over the household tasks that you might have done. Most postpartum doulas will support a new mother with food, light housework like laundry and dishes, pet care and sibling care.

As a holistic practitioner, I bring a framework that supports you at a deeper level that includes emotional, energetic and spiritual care as well.

  • The major role that the body’s natural oxytocin plays in birth encourages the idea that birth is an experience of love... Birth is a spiritual experience simply because it is largely an act of love on the part of the body physiology and the indwelling spirit.

  • I just wanted to reach out and thank you for the most amazing time I’ve had attending your yoga classes through my pregnancy. I thought they would get more challenging the more pregnant I got, but it turns out I was getting stronger the whole time. I am so so thankful for you and the work that you do. It turns out the timing of my package was absolutely perfect because last night I gave birth to my little girl!! I looked over at my husband last night and said “I’m so sad I won’t get to go to yoga tomorrow night” haha. Thank you so much for everything!! You are amazing and wonderful and such a gift to the community.

  • Dawn creates beautiful, safe, and healing spaces for mothers on their journey through pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood. I attended her prenatal yoga classes almost every week in my second and third trimester and have attended her childbirth workshop and mothers' circle. I had a peaceful, empowered birth thanks to the mental, physical, and spiritual preparation from Dawn's classes and have continued to foster a community with other mothers while prioritizing my mental and spiritual health as a new mom. Thank you, Dawn!!!
